are moving forward with the construction
clubhouse, but we are going to keep the
old clubhouse in place until
construction. The other one, it's in bad
shape. It needs paint. It's carpets. It
needs to be cleaned up a little bit to
make sure.

This is a resolution authorizing the
execution of the shared service
agreement between the city of Britain
the Atlanta County Improvement Authority
operation links for golf course. This
will be through February 28th, 2026.

So, one of the things we're doing in the
transition, we want to make sure that we
keep continuity of service billing as
we're building our team uh to run the
golf course. We also want to make sure
that some overlap between uh the
Atlantic County Improvement Authority as
well as our employees coming in. So
maintain that service there. Atlantic
County authorities bring to work with us
and extend to a short extension just
with the overlap
smooth transition. Again, the ACIA has
been an incredible benefit partner to
the city team. They're always there to
help us make that again. So very proud
of that relationship.

idea of January.

development committee chairperson here,

development is working on things in the

want to say thank you for coming out and
come out in support of council what we
have to say here tonight
for all our council members I'd like you
guys to review
agencies
A couple quick updates projecting
nurses back regions
that have been forward in the city
state. Uh I will tell you with the help
of Senator Paulina we're finally
starting to get dredging done in Back
Bay. They're going to be working around
Sunflower Island on the south end of the
island dredging channel. Uh we're very
very fortunate that Senator Palestina
has a great relationship with the
commissioner of the DOT. Um probably I
don't know if it's a year ago or two
years ago it all starts to run together
now but he actually had the commissioner
down the projects that were going on
team so they can see firsthand and it's
really been helpful getting things done
and that's why I say the partnerships
that we have in government are so
important to the city team. So, I want
to thank all of our community members
who were involved in the petitions that
we sent up and I want to thank the
senator for helping get this project
forward. Um, the DOT, uh, we just
received communication from them. They
probably be starting the next couple
weeks. They're going to be staging at
the boat ramp with their equipment.
Trying to make sure we work that out and
stock crews. We know they're going to be
training out of there soon, too. But,
um, that should start in a couple weeks.
One of the great things, too, is they're
taking the dredge spoils from that area.
They're actually using it to do the
restoration of some of the wetlands that
are out there. So it' be a goodition
with that project as well. And that's
you know I think it's a better use of
materials rather than putting it ground.
So uh really glad to see D
on that project. Uh the other thing
we've working on with Congressman Van
Drew is the emergency beach
replenishment of Port Island. Uh we
passed a resolution here as well as many
other shore towns. uh requesting that
Governor Murphy declare a state of
emergency. The Van Drew has federal
money ready to go. That money can't move
to the states unless the state declares
some type of emer qualify for it. My
understanding is that uh Governor Murphy
does not intend to do that his last few
weeks of office. I had an opportunity to
speak with Governor Cheryl's office
today. uh they let me know that um they
received our letter
city and also they received a letter
from the coastal coalition that we're
part of discussing um what action they
take. So I'm hoping Cheryl takes office
in a couple weeks that she will declare
that help not just who need it. So that
was uh very very encouraging and I know
that um some other high level state
people are actually working on some
other connections
towards
this time we'll open it up for public
comment. Anybody wishing to be heard

Yeah, just the one I forgot to say thank
you to all department heads. Great job
and of course congratulating Neil Kane
for the now with the longest recording
council person mayor in the history of I
think 10 straight.
Yeah, you got me. I had I had a 20 year
streak, but that was the way this year,
but 30 years definitely beats me.

polar bear plunge this year, but ended
up having a family vacation.
I hope we do get some
state government
that we need for quite some time. I can
remember last time Rock Jetty's down
there show

that's why I said to um
I think the appropriate approach with
Governor Cher coming in have this
relationship
um and I've said to a number of people
too the only thing I really know about
her is what's her campaign
So I do find it encouragement that I
reached out and she had someone back
you know so I always have faith
uh the other issue and I don't know my
penny just reminded me of this but the
other issue a number of people have uh
reached out to me about I guess their
gas bill rates and we're seeing is that
the
delivery charge for gas is turning out
to be somewhere between two and a half
and three times the rate of the actual
gas itself. There's nothing said about
that. Um I did let people know that we
would look into this talk with our state
level officials to see what can be done.
I know people are very concerned about
that. Uh my understanding is that the
rate increase was approved by the
um there's a number of different factors
that go into why that rate was approved,
but I get some more information and
share that with community and I know
that it's something that needs to be
addressed because I know on one hand
we're getting hit with very high rates
of electricity and now we're seeing the
same kind of issues with gas and I
believe on the free market gas prices we
talk about natural gas drop between 20
and 30%. So people don't understand why
the bills are so high. So once we have
more information on that, we'll share
them with the public and we'll see what
we can do about addressing those issues
with
something.
