I'd like to call this meeting to order
this is the abun Vista Township regular
meeting July 22nd 2024 we're going to
start with a roll call krenzer here
Renard here Testa here Williams absent

notice of this meeting was mailed to the
Daily Journal the press and duly posted
in the main lobby of the municipal
complex all requirements of the open
public meetings act have been met in
compliance with the Sunshine Law I'd
like to ask everyone to stand and salute
the

United States of America and to the repu
for it stands one nation under God
indivisible with liy and justice for all

report all right a few quick things for
you guys tonight uh we're going to start
off on summer concerts I want to thank
everybody that's attended so far uh they
have been to date very well attended
great weather for the most part uh
please continue to join us at Michael
Debbie park over the next several
Wednesdays at 700 p.m. uh good music
good food great people so please uh
continue to keep this date on your
calendar uh I'm going to touch briefly
on National Night Out we'll be at
Michael Debbie Park August 6th at 7th
7:00 p.m.
uh please come join us this is our
biggest event of the Year by far uh in
terms of just total prep uh
participation vendors uh this is really
a an all hands Affair uh local police
fire and EMS will be there uh several
demonstrations during the course of the
evening uh tons of great food and
giveaways Mr Softy uh we will finish
with an amazing fireworks display and I
want to touch on this because it's
important this event uh collectively
cost the township over ,000 each year
and this is done entirely by virtue of
sponsorship so I want to thank each and
every person that was able to give this
year um residents businesses that were
able to help donate this is a a really
big to do for us so I want to thank you
on behalf of the township as a whole
your help is extremely uh excuse me
extremely appreciated please save this
date again it is August 6th at 7 p.m. uh
this is going to be a great evening so
please come out and join us and lastly I
want to plug the uh the eth annual
Community Fund day it's going to be
Saturday August 24th it will be held at
the MLK Community Center in Newtonville
uh this event is a collaborative effort
between several local churches including
uh but not limited to Moon bounces games
free food three onree basketball vendors
live DJ free haircuts it's a first uh
giveaways face painting and much more so
the 8th Annual Community Fund day August
24th at the MLK Community Center
uh and just a recap I I'm encouraging
residents to take part in these events
as a whole uh this is something I touch
on each month as a father of three I'm
kind of seeing firsthand this summer
just how extremely expensive it is just
to do anything with your family uh
between my three little guys and my wife
collectively uh we've been to the beach
so far boardwalks movies sporting events
eating out it seems like just about
everything for a family of five or more
is in that $150 to $200 range so uh all
the events that I'd mentioned previously
are low cost no cost events so please
come out please take advantage of these
events and that's all I have tonight

with our master plan but it's also
consistent with the Pinelands
comprehensive management plan and thus
they are sending it back to the
governing body for adoption just want to

distribution is
$324,400 and voted upon as one item by
the township committee if any discussion

112-454 the AC CIA cdbg Grant
13-24 is approving the submission of a
Grant application and execute Grant
contract for the Reconstruction of Post
Road Phase 1 11 14-24 is authorizing an
intermittent leave of absence to Michael
tesin 11 15-24 is authorizing the mayor
to execute contracts with Sweetwater
Environmental Services
116-24 is authorizing the change fund
for the 2024 National Night Out one
17-24 is opposing offshore wind projects
and support the Atlanta County Executive
and Board of Commissioners to utilize
its various Powers including legal
action to protect the future of Atlanta
County m 118-24 is supporting the US
doot proposal for railroads to maintain
accurate electronic information about
rail Hazmat shipments and a

yes item 12 what do you have for us
tonight Lisa uh thank you mayor um I
just wanted to bring up um resolution
for the approval of resolution
11224 uh which is um a chapter 159 for a
grant that the township received from
the atlanic county Improvement Authority
each year we apply and we're able to put
those proceeds towards improvements to
various Township buildings uh we've been
working on our Dr Martin Luther King
Community Center with new bathrooms new
floors new kitchen um things of that
nature and usually we get anywhere
between 31 and
$35,000 um per year and then we usually
have to save it up over a balance of
four to five years to be able to do a
project um this year after an
application um there were various
Atlantic County um municipalities that
applied and they only gave them out to
seven we were one of the seven and
actually one of the highest uh to
receive so we received $100,000 this
year to incorporate with some money that
we have saved up um that project will
actually come to town hall where we'll
be able to improve the bathrooms here at
Town Hall which have not had
improvements since uh most likely the
Inception of the building in the 70s so
um so I'm really happy for that uh the
application process is grueling for that
um I've been applying for Town Hall
Grant here for the past four years um so
with money Sav sa D up in this year's
huge amount um that project hopefully
will be underway so that's great yes so
I just wanted to report that grants are
very hard to come by and very hard to
get um but when we get them we'd like to
be able to move forward with them so
perfect perfect and that's all I have

Lisa item 13 we're going to start with a
Township committee reports and we're are
going to lead off with Deputy Mayor
Ellen Testa thank you um I just wanted
to remind everybody about our weekly
concert series it is wonderful people
seem to really enjoy it and we have a
few more weeks left to the uh end of the
season and I want to invite all of you
to come and enjoy the evenings with us
um as Bill said if has become a very
expensive thing for everybody to go out
anymore with their families and this is
easily afforded by most because it is so
reasonable so please attend if you can
thank you we're trying to break our
single season record for ruper floats so
uh we're we're getting close we've got
three more concerts to do it I think
last time we did about 65 or 70 of those
things
Bill uh we're going to jump over to
committee krenzer yeah thank you mayor
so bear with me guys I have some stuff
to go over with you guys tonight but um
quick Public Works update uh the team is
out doing uh Park and Township
maintenance they're spraying for weed
weeds everywhere in the township cutting
roadside grass Building Inspections
baseball ball field uh clean up and
maintenance they're grading Quigley Park
uh the parking lot they're grading the
train station parking lot and cleaning
storm draam so they're caught up for the
most part on everything going on in the
town uh however you know we keep
throwing stuff at them so they're
they're doing great on that um just
another quick note um thank you Lisa for
your work on the grants I know that it's
a grueling task and you spend hours of
your day um doing that not only that but
following up on it so appreciate that
and you know it's it's unbelievable it
many of you may have noticed we got new
bleachers throughout our Township at our
Parks too um our bleachers were not up
to our insurance code of what they
wanted so we had to remove all the
bleachers and actually buy all new
bleachers and this was done by Lisa
researching a grant finding the Grant
and getting the grant applying for it
and then we were able to buy all new
bleachers zero to taxpayers so that was
pretty pretty good too
um we had our car show anybody in the
audience go to our car show no why not
it's a shame it was hot I give it to you
it was hot it was about 100° at 6:00
a.m. so I I get it um we were there it
was great we had about 90 cars there it
was down from last year however
obviously the weather had something to
do with it but everybody had great uh a
great time we had uh food trucks there
we had things for the kids to do we gave
away away Awards and there was a lot of
great great cars there and and I
appreciate everybody that that came out
and participated and we're going to do
it next year
again um
Thursday night last week we had our um
meeting for planning board and it's
really enlightening and really nice to
see people continuing to move to buav
Vista Township we have such a great
Township and so much to offer here um in
Atlanta County and we um started the
initial stages and approved um some
zoning and and that for two new homes to
be built in our town so it's a big deal
when when that happens you know and
these are these are uh one home was a
tear and a completely redo and another
home was a new home on a vacant lot so
it it's very nice to see this happening
um and and I just I appreciate everybody
that that does move here in in our
community that is here um and the uh the
the second lot was a a piece of ground
that's been in the family since 1920 so
I mean that's pretty cool to see you
know a third or fourth generation
wanting to stay in this town absolutely
absolutely and last but not least um we
had an incident over the Fourth of July
holiday and I know we're several weeks
Beyond but um trees on power lines trees
on phone lines you know Comcast lines
things like that um it was reported very
soon after it happened our guys went out
looked at it we called it in um AC
electric not their poll um xinity or
Verizon Verizon not their poll and
exfinity not their poll Comcast not
their poll so whose poll was it we
didn't we didn't know so it took several
days to get this figured out but we got
it figured out and some Good Samaritans
came came out and got the tree off the
power lines so you know I'd appreciate
that and uh you know just call it in and
we will do our absolute best to make
sure that happened I know there were
some community members that didn't like
the time frame that that this all
happened in however we did our best to
to figure out whose poll it actually was
because we can't really send our guys
over there and cut trees off live wires
you know that's that's what you know all
these different utility companies have
these people for so appreciate you
bearing with us on that um
I think that's it mayor so I I'll uh
I'll be quiet now so appreciate it thank

one or two little things I would like to
invite everybody to the National Night
Out it's our version of July 4th we
didn't have fireworks on July 4th but
we're going to have we're going to make
up for them on August 6 night out you
know uh also it's good to look up and
see people in the audience
it's so many times you come out here and
it's it's nothing but cheers uh it's
good to see people taking interest in
coming out even though I'm I'm not
really happy about the reason that the
it's crowded but it's a good reason and
it's good to see people take an
involvement in the in the
township thank you

I good evening hi Hi how are you um my
name is Lan Lima I live at cranberry run
and I'm here for two simple questions
because un can you just move that way so
you're in the microphone like tele you
know telep T where something is said and
then it just you know has a life of its
own
so I'm just here quickly to ask about
the permits that Legacy advertises for a
pool have they in fact permits for a
pool at cranber run um I don't know what
they've adverti but there are no permits
pending at this time for legacy or
anything within the area of cranberry
run they do however have a pending
application in front of the board that
there's certain things that they still
need to clear up and provide for for the
board engineer in order for them to
proceed I have not had any additional
conversations in the past several months
with anybody from that organization but
the pending stuff is not related to a
pool correct no that's for a pickle ball
court okay thank you Lisa that's exactly
what you had told me via phone I just
wanted our you know neighbors to hear
that and then can you explain the pad
fee to us the purpose for the pad fee
okay so I I know that each each home
pays about $25 family we have
28 298 homes it comes to about $90,000 a
year so what what is the what is that
for where does that go who collects
it so um Legacy where the owner of the
property collects the pad fees and in
turn based upon the ordinance that was
done several years ago over I think it
was a 15year period I think Dominic you
were here when we did that one um that
amount is minimal for age restricted
community than it is for other um
manufactured home um developments uh
that pad fee pays for um different
services that the township would provide
whether it's EMS Services uh trash
collection recycling collection um any
type of roadside collection that the
township would be able to provide to the
community um access to the drop off
facilities things of that nature is
basically for Township services that
that provides thank you so much and I
would just like to make a comment
because I work for the government for 20
years and I have to commend the DPW
workers for this town um I leave in the
morning to teach in a school and I'm so
impressed with these guys out all the
time and I go from here to Su and I
don't see many people out and I do see
our guys and we do very very much
appreciate it it's what keeps you know
being beautiful thank you is you know if
there is a concern or something in the
in the town and we hear of it we can
respond pretty quick you know we have
guys staged throughout the the community
it's 44 square miles so it's it's not
necessarily easy to to cover all all
miles but we have guys stag throughout
you know North Southeast and West most
of the time we see that and we
appreciate it thank you very much have a

you guys good evening um I'm here for a
brief comment um and thank you all for
coming I I didn't do the introd I didn't
do the invite but whoever did uh I can
answer any questions you have
outside okay
um so I'm here uh basically to do you
guys want to introduce yourself everyone
everyone here probably knows who you are
just for everyone at home that's going
to see this tomorrow night I'm Dan I'm
an assembly this is my running Cody
Miller and I'm a reluctant public
speaker eat the brains
Ona so uh we um we got in office in uh
November and uh well actually the
election took place in November we came
to this meeting in I believe December
and we heard your constituents uh
speaking about the issues in cranber run
so as I indicated before uh when I was
sworn in the first day dropped the bill
uh to cap lot rent uh ordinance or lot
rent fees and um it passed the housing
committee uh it's in front of the second
Committee in the assembly uh we expected
to be concluded quickly but that's not
the real reason why I'm here tonight the
real reason is um when Cody and I got in
to the
assembly uh we reached out to the mayor
and counsel and we wanted to know what
was what was needed in inista Township
and uh mayor reri uh indicated that
there is a tremendous need for a salt
shed a new salt shed a new salted we
have one there's just not much left of
it and salt and water don't mix well um
so uh you know in District Four last
year uh there were no budget resolutions
none of the towns in the district
received any money in the state budget
last year um so Cody and I uh went to
the speaker um after we spoke with the
mayor
and they put in $400,000 for this town
and you're going to get your
so and Cody and I will do whatever we
can to support your your National ey out
I I don't know if I can attend but we
will make every effort to do so um so
with that being said U you guys have a
wonderful night and
well and I want to piggy back on on that
real quick and just the the importance
of of that structure uh so that
structure at any given time houses 500
tons of rock salt that allows us to
maintain 44 square miles of roadways uh
the current structure in its existing
state uh a strong wind you know or two
or three consecutive sneezes can knock
it over so it's it needed to be
addressed 15 20 years ago we're just to
a point now where everything is a
gazillion dollars everything is failing
simultaneously so this was a a
tremendous ask a very big lofty ask uh
but this this building is Mission
critical to allow us hopefully into next
winter and Beyond to continue to
maintain our roadways across town so I
thank you guys for being here tonight
and thank you for your continued
supporta is probably the fur furthest
point from my home is AER Township but I
told you day one it will be as important
to me while I'm in the assembly as my
own homeown so you guys have a wonderful
we appreciate it thank you guys thank

and kind of just to piggyback off that
real quick because everybody knows how
much I like to talk so um you know we we
buy salt strategically so when we get
prices on salt and it's low we'll buy
we'll buy salt in the summer if we need
it for the winter I mean it all depends
on when we can get it and how much it is
so we're able to store it Bank it and
use it year after year it's not like we
give it back at the end of a winter you
know so we we actually are able to buy
it consistently store it in the in the
salt shed and then use it consistently
so it's a it's a big help so thank you

or could be tell me yes or no there's a
auto advance is auto store chain called
auto events they want to put a store in
buun
however there's some hurdles in the it's
called the Farmland
act are we talking about being a burrow
or buav Vista
bua yeah I was Buist or
buur I just call bu well yeah there's
differences yeah the auto Advan store on
Landis I was buying a product there I
told him where I was from said well
we're trying to get a store on wheat
wheat road but she said there's some
hindrances she mentioned a farm land
that's opposing it now it would be
conducive to everybody here to have a
auto part store
nearby Emergency Care
store urgent care that's near so that's
one to bring it to your
attention I've heard nothing about it uh
to my knowledge this was this was
progressing this was already approved
and and they were in the final stages of
getting this thing ready to move forward
it's actually Auto Zone Auto Zone okay
and it's next to Tractor Supply next to
Tractor Supply in bunavista Township
because across the street is the burrow
and they actually just um prepared their
final plans and getting ready to bond to
build so that's news to me that they're
running in two hurdles yeah we've heard
nothing about it on our end everything
has been fully approved yeah okay
manager just open to me and maybe she
was somewhat yeah was concerned for we
are all for we need every every nickel
tax revenue we can possibly get our
hands on just just so everybody knows
this is next to Tractor Supply I said it
before but this is directly next to it
and like Lisa said across the street is
the burrow and uh the intelligent side
with the Tractor Supply is Buist it gets
very weird through that area there so
when it divides oh yeah but no Auto Zone
was approved last year and and they're
moving forward I mean they have
different hurdles to go through and
approvals and septic and Atlantic County
and things of that nature but they're
they're getting to the final stages of
their approval but everything from us is
pretty much good to go right yeah
perhaps the store manager isn't aware of
what the higher hierarchy of the
organization is doing yeah yeah
everything everything they needed from
us we we blessed several months ago you
guys a good bunch thank you sir thank
you you're in the zone
I need
tissue hi I'm Frank Lewis from
run a couple questions there recyclable
BS there a lot of people in a trailer
park don't have them or broken and they
said they cost $80 for a new
one so the recycling totes um depends on
which one you want to get you can get
the free ones which are the smaller
buckets from the acoa they'll drop them
off to you um or you can purchase the 96
gallon totes um online at the ACA and
they drop them off to you as well um but
our contractor is the Atlanta County
Utilities Authority or you can go to
your hardware store and you can purchase
totes on your own you don't have to
purchase them through them either is the
one that we have the blue one in the
back of the room what would they give
for free um for free correct right
behind her
yeah the trash guy broke mine got you
yeah mine mine has a nice a nice crack
in it too it you know they broke it yeah
they came out in 2016 so they're about
eight years
old
yeah I would put a call in uh it might
be something if you can maybe send or
email a photo and say obviously this
isn't something that I did it was the
force of the truck that that there might
be some in ability for them to work with
you but there didn't have one they don't
have fory B so maybe um um Lisa is there
a way that you could provide a phone
number or something to contact that
cranberry Run for the free one is um so
they do everything on their website it's
all online it's all online or you can
call them is on the U um I'm sorry I was
going to say the number for them is on
the calendar we give out every year and
on the table there's a small card that
card is from the acoa it's a calendar
for all of their um pickup dates on
there has their telephone number as well
don't call the one that says Public
Works call the one for ACA there's two
numbers there's two numbers on there
bring your thing in and drop it and drop
it off and you know yeah then you can
buy a new one it's like then they drop
them off to
you yeah the other lady didn't have one
so you know try to find her one so had
extras all right and update on
Grandberry
R the
roads putter in car seal you know
driveway seal that's what they did make
it look pretty it's all black but you
got bumps like five six 8 in deep
in you know so they made it look pretty
but it's not really good drivable places
like one Pole's like this big where it
goes down and there's a pipe there have
you heard anything along those lines
from no not since G mechanical called
and said that they fixed everything that
was there with the drainage I mean I'm
just saying I have not heard H I have
not heard anything since the beginning
of the year when you guys initially came
out after that it was radio silent from
cuz it stopped raining Raining they had
a truck out clean the plate that goes
through with a river okay in the P fills
it's still going flight there's no place
for the rest of the water to go right
they didn't do nothing
to have a order go
elsewh you know did you well I mean at
one point we as a group when you guys
were last here we talked about um maybe
you guys all getting together seeking
some legal representation I mean did did
that go anywhere or anything happened
with that just out of curiosity so you
find anything I we don't have of course
yeah did you go to the Atlantic County
yep did you go to Atlantic County to the
uh well that's why that Tru came out to
clean the bikes no no no I I meant for
Legal
Services what was the name of the
organization Atlanta County um isn't it
the legal services I don't there is a
proo for every County so but I think
it's down in Atlantic
City I love you guys just drive down the
road come right in drive down the road
drive
around make sure you got your
SE have you and and this is just I'm
trying to understand the whole picture
here so apologize for my maybe um not
knowing but you guys have obviously
reported this to whoever runs the
facility get the to rep the roads they
did patches and they
just P back it's about that it's coming
off now already so they did like um tar
and Chip probably is what they did yeah
they just seal
CED they left the holes and then they
spray what what is the um response um
from cranberry run from their management
or whomever Legacy yeah Legacy does does
nothing ring click ring click the outfit
that they had they said they were doing
what they were
told just spray painting over the not
even so when we when we met last guys
this was the the the entity that we had
suggested if somebody can take this down
it's it's South Jersey Legal Services
and it's it's 609

Atlantic City okay and that would be a
very good starting
point I mean there's there's really
there's so much we can do and I think
you guys all understand that you know
it's obviously a private company private
property and that however you know is
there can we email the um the management
for the that we know of and and ask for
an update on the road how did the road
turn out I can email their attorney they
have attorney that's representing them
so everything goes to the attorney I
mean maybe that's what we do is just get
an update from them
so where new people coming in is going
to be paying
$993 yeah we heard $193 a month not in
selling but they don't take care let's
say you got the pipe break the water
pipe from the street all the way into
your house not under your house if it
breaks under your house you have to fix
it you know the main line yeah turn the
shut mouth and that breaks underneath
one guy dug like 8 ft down to try to fix
the plate and another guy had one broken
too and oh they said just go buy get a
plum electrical
lines high voltage lines only the box
that's on the street it doesn't cover to
the junction or to the to your meter if
it breaks in there you have to pay to
get some to fix it you're not allowed
dig got to get a contractor my neighbor
paid over three grand to do
that okay the street lights in front of
our house that's our
electricity yes it's hard wire into your
trailer street lights out

GL majority of the lighting in there is
that the people are pay

okay what's the other stuff you know so
much stuff to do you know you know3 but
I mean at this point I think need
someone to have negotiation for the new
contract well we want no representative
that no one will stop saying you got to
do this you got to help them with that
the electric lines are in your
ground it's you to be their responsibity
the Border plate okay inside the house I
could understand mobile home but under
the ground that should be part of their
their Duty so look looking at the scope
of this overall with what you know
concerns and issues you all have with
the um with the particular uh owners of
of cranberry run Legacy I I I think that
having one spokesperson I think that
having you know all of these concerns
and issues addressed on like a document
you know where you know hey boom boom
boom fual information maybe pictures
things like that and it's a living
document that you guys can keep adding
to absolutely and I think that that's
going to be very important and provide a
lot of uh validity to your to your case

thank um the mayor and the committee
they've worked with us to try and
address these issues by we us reaching
out to them trying to resolve them
unfortunately as the committee has said
earlier their hands are tied when it
comes to this stuff because you have a
private contract with a private company
your utilities are private utilities so
as a I was a council person very limited
in what they can and can't do so I
encourage you to reach out to South
Jersey Legal Services so you can start
looking through your contracts and what
that looks like in your increases but as
far as the committee is concerned we are
office they can continue to reach out to
like Legacy uh unless it's something
that's a matter of public safety or
urgency like if a roadway was blocked or
if there was some you know tragedy that
happened the committee is very limited
in what they can and can't do which is
why I would encourage you all to
continue to meet as a group collectively
you can still communicate with Council
but as they said previously it's very
difficult because you have a contract
with a private company so if there's
anything that we can do I know that you
can reach out and email the mayor and
Committee Member members and they will
Advocate on your behalf but just want
you to be aware I know you can come to
these meetings and address these
concerns but the committee is limited in
what they can and can't do and I know
that you know they're advocating on your
behalf and we're doing it as well
working together so I just wanted to
state that and and the engagements with
Legacy are going to be so much more
impactful coming from legal counsel than
they are from from us or from
ld4 um it's literally I mean Lisa
literally is like just novels with these
guys and it's in one ear and out the
other uh as soon as it's from you know
the law offices of then it's immediate
and and it's you know it becomes a
priority soed in colonial states in mon
Township they sought legal services for
a contract that was absolutely God awful
and they fought got representation and
they're working on addressing some of
the inconsistencies in their contract
because the contract is with a private
company um we're here mainly I mean we
have the two questions but other than
that it's really just your own
so that you know what's happening within
your Township and we would imagine that
you'd want we welcome you guys every
meeting we learn when you guys all come
in when the whole Community comes in and
even giving us updates on Legacy
cranberry run and things like that so
it's not discouraged At All by any means
you know however as was stated yes we
there's not much we can do the time you
were here the last time we gave you the
same uh notification of who to
contact and I guess it wasn't done as as
far as legal services and now you have
that information once again and I would
suggest that you do it yes no we didn't
we didn't know that this specific I I I
take the notes and I know I I follow up
within 24 hours as I did with my
legislative office so that we did not
know but we will certainly follow up and
and you have given us other advice that
we' followed and we've been successful
so um we do appreciate your help can I
can I say something it's very nice to
have everybody here tonight and and
address these these situations but the
council's aware because I tell them
constantly I live in fber run and your
problems are my problems you know what

something that these guys can run with
because there has to be more cause and
effect they just can't continue to
increase perpetually and you guys are
are completely inundated with these
infrastructure issues between the
flooding the pipes you know the drainage
you know all of the stuff the conditions
of the road so and you know we see it
too from Facebook you know from um you
know Facebook and things like that and
we we share it with one another the
flood or this or that so you know we're
we're very active on social media as
well and we have come further we have
the big trucks with the pipes and
they've been working on it every day
they've been with us since last week so
some you know it life moves slowly
sometimes but we're willing to put the
time in the work and that was something

um we politely told them if they didn't

and I know there's been talk before
about Carin road but recently there's
been a big big influx of big tractor
trailers Up Down cber Road couple of
times I had to drive on a golf course
race because they're only down center of
the road the lines you can't see them
the whole road is no passing you can't
see the lines you got to you got to
drive and see it uh the tractors we
understand it's a farm area so you pull
over you L the P but a lot of track or
trailers now running and running down
Center Road and driving people into the
grass something's got to be done it's
just getting out of hand uh State Police
were there about a week ago and they
sort of slowed things down but they're
there one day and
gone it's a 35 M Road Nobody Does that
one day I was on the road a pickup truck
pass me about 75 miles an hour and then
no passing Road pass but you can't see
the lines unless you know they're
there something's got to be done it's
not it's not just a cosmetic thing first
of all I don't think the road itself
meets the standards of a road because
it's fourt on one side is covered with
grass so I don't think it meets the
width for the RO what it's meant to be
used
for and without the lines and with these
big tractor trailers they must have put
it own GPS somehow now so what is update
on coverland we um we just introduced
the bond ordinance this evening um part
of that Bond ordinance is for municipal
roadway improvements which includes the
lining of Cumberland Road so um part of
that Bond ordinance is the township
would need to basically we're going to
borrow the money against ourselves so
that way there's no interest and pay it
back over 10 years so we don't have to
go into the open market um but once this
is done and improved we'll work on some
bid specifications and then it's going
to go out to bid for a contractor to
come out and put the lines in in the
road is it a time frame we're hoping by
the end of the year we're talking June
by the time we adopted it's August we
have 45 days to allow that to go through
and then bid specification so um for the
lines there's no closing of any tarous
where we would be Milling other roads
and things of that nature so the lines
should be able to be done as long as the
weather remains good um but borrowing
any weather issues hopefully by the end
of this year all right I appreciate it

neighbor before before she moved she had
the same thing she almost got killed
over there you're saying coming coming
off of tuckaho going on to Cumberland to
get out to 40 go out toout 40 come
around this way and there's a stop sign
there's two stop signs there but they
don't they don't look so I think that
this is twofold and is cuz they would
also need do approval cuz they'd have to
not only that light but the do light
because they're only about 200 ft away
from each other kind where I was going
with this so what what I think we could
do is probably let the county maybe know
that hey there's a problem here you know
could could you look at it and enhance

traffic um stop you know whether it be
rumble strips whether it be you know
different things along those lines there
the the second part they probably could
do the um LED blinking on top of the
stop signs they could do that I don't
you see what they we've been asking for
at Union
and Landis and that's not happening

to see something but also can we um it
can't continue somebody going get killed
there right can we we can definitely
we've been trying to do something
similar at Landis and Union as well for
the last year with the county just
either in the form of lights or or
rumble strips just because got kill oh

they were doing with the tracks just go

store railroad cars they've got a whole
section A whole business in storing
railroad cars so I know that's a big ISS
with some of our other River communities
especially Corbin City and Upper
Township so when I was going down I
noticed you know I had to go down to
other Road they've got a whole lot of
cars stored on that siding right there
in tuo they' brought in a lot more yeah
so and they are not tankers but one of
the things that it had on their website
and I'm not you know I'm not the
alarmist but it was one of the reasons I
think our River Council got into looking
at this you know some of the other towns
have got a lot more to and we do
directly over the river this is not over
the river where I'm looking at it but
they can
store containers with Hazmat materials
in them so I you know I mean I just was
looking at that was from their website
so they're marketing it that way that
that is one of the services that they
can provide so as I said I'm not being
an alarmist about it but it was just
something that kind of came up with some
of the other big accidents around and
then you yourself said it's kind of hard
to get a lot of information from the
train company so we did um Dave shig our
Township engineer reached out to the do
regarding the crossing at Jackson um
they repli back and said that just like
the polls it's not their responsibility
it's under the responsibility of K May
SE Shoreline um we reached out to Kate
May Seashore line and a day later they
came back and they said thank for making
us aware of it um the do they reached
out to the do to get an application for
um I guess funding they turn around I
guess they need to get a quote as to how
much it's going to cost provide it to
the dot for approval before they can do
any improvements but it's not the do's
responsibility however our however our
engineer put them on notice of the
dangerous aspect of it and the potential
of damages to the vehicles that would be
the responsibility of Kate May Seashore
line so we did that for a purpose of in
case somebody crosses it and there is
damage and they come after the township
we've made them very well aware of the
dangerous situation we asked them at a
minimum to put what they have that
rubber casing um before they actually
clear it all out and they put that um
it's more of that metal plastic that
they put on there so uh he did ask at a
minimum to do some type of temper work
um and they had to get do approval for
that but they're not responsible for it
no I sorry I'm a little Nas tonight like
their fing came for the
infrastructure that came
toy I guess so then they were able to
get Grant there so maybe that's I'll
look into that more that's a big one for
our River Council but I appreciate you

this is one step you just put a little
