Public Meeting of Egg Harbor Township Committee 01/07/26

As the clerk of this meeting, I hereby
call this meeting to order and publicly
announced that in compliance with the
open public meetings act, adequate
notice of this meeting has been
advertised and posted in the matter
prescribed by law. This meeting is being
videot taped for broadcast on EHTV
channel 97. Due to technical issues or
close session matters permitted by law,
there may be interruptions in the
broadcast.
At this time, would everyone please rise
as the Aver Township Police Honor Guard
presents the colors and remain standing
for the pledge of allegiance, national

As we begin, let us put put ourselves in
the presence of our God who is the
source of all wisdom, justice, and
peace.
Loving and faithful God, we thank you
for the gift of this community, for the
privilege of serving the people of Egg
Harbor Township.
Your word remind us through the prophet
Micah what you ask of us to act justly,
to love mercy, and to walk humbly with
with our God. Tonight, as we organize
our newly renewed leadership, may these
words guide our hearts and our work.
Look kindly upon our mayor and deputy
mayor. Strengthen them with wisdom from
above and give them the hearts that seek
what is true, just, and good. Bless the
members of the governing body and our
newly elected officials. May their
conversations be honest, their decision
fair, and their leadership always
directed towards the common good,
especially for those who are poor,
vulnerable, or forgotten.
We ask your blessing as well upon all
who serve on our boards, commissions,
and committees. Though their work is
often unseen, their service shapes the
life of our township. Fill them with
patience, prudence, and integrity.
Loving God, we commend to you the people
of Egg Harbor Township. Our families,
our children, and youth, our seniors,
our first responders, our teachers,
volunteers, workers, and business
owners. Be near to those who struggle.
Comfort those who are burdened. And
inspire all of us to care for one
another as neighbors.
When challenges arise, send your Holy
Spirit to bring light, understanding,
and peace. When this agreement come,
remind us that true leadership is
service, and that every person we
encounter is made in your image. As we
begin this new year of civic life, may
walk together in faith, hope, and
charity. May our efforts reflect your
goodness and build a community marked by
justice, compassion, and unity. We ask

Atlanta County Clerk Joe Derell is here.
We've got our sheriff. Uh Joe Odonahue
under sheriff Mario Suarez.
Got to put the glasses on for the list.
We have the Democrat and Republican uh
club presidents Michael Bib and Vicky
Shiffler. We've got the demi democratic
uh county uh president, I guess he is
county chair, Michael Sulamont. We have
our superintendent of schools, Dr. Kim
Gruio. We have board members uh Barbara
Salagi, Michael Price, who was elected
vice chair last night, Nicholas Sephi,
Patrick Ireland, and I think I saw
Christy Bird here, and Tamika Gilbert
Floyd, who was appointed president last
night. Uh we've got our police chief,
Spana, former police chief Michael
Hughes. We have our well soon to be in a
matter of like five minutes our fire
chief Mr. Pat Flynn. We have uh Captain
Chris Brunick back there from our EMS.
We have former
uh well he was a freeholder when he was
there. Uh Frank Vinity. We have got uh
John Rizley from the commissioner board.
And we have Art Shanker from the
commissioner board. Let's see who am I
missing here.

I think I can speak for every one of us
up here. The volunteers in this town is
what makes it so great. We have a
volunteer fire department and they're
second to none and we just want to thank
them for all that they do. We have
members sitting here tonight that are
been on our boards for many, many years
and they give of their time and their
energy to get yelled at and to solve big
problems that we have here in town and
do the best they can. So, I just want to
thank everyone in here that does
anything for this township. Thank you
very much because you are what makes
this town so great.

for the flexibility in the municipal
budget to address unforeseen expenses or
future needs while staying within the
statutory financial guidelines.

will be held on February 4, 2026 at 5:00

just want to thank the people of Egg
Harbor Township for uh once again
placing their trust in me. I'm grateful

everyone who who came out this evening
to this this wonderful ceremony. Um, I
also want to thank my wife Sue, my
daughters Beth Anne and Christine.
Um, you know, we're very fortunate. Egg
Harbor Township is a great place to live
and work. We have a lot to be proud of,
and there are so many good things
happening here, but we do have some
things to work on.
I look forward to working with the
members of this committee. I look
forward to continuing to serve all of
the residents of our great township. I
thank you all for coming tonight and
happy new year.

>> uh I just want to wish everybody a happy
new year and a safe 2026 and thank
everybody who comes out and attends
these and we're here to make this
township better every day. and to the uh
honor guard. Um I think the bleed pey
left, but they do a great job. For
somebody who spent some time in the
military, I'm looking at Patrick
Ireland. Drilling ceremony was never my
strong feature, but these guys do it
well. They don't miss a step and they
honor our country in in the fashion it
should be honored. So again, you know,
I'm happy to serve. Happy to serve with
Pete, Ray, Will, Paul's, and Laura Fmer.
We're here to make this township better
every day and um that's that's our honor
to do so. So again, thank you and a

not a computer person. I still like to
typewriter. But uh someone called me and
said that on Facebook they had a poll
about the best and worst cops in
Atlantic City history. And the people
notified me and I had like 50 votes for
the best cop because I worked hard when
I worked in Atlantic City. But I'm gonna
work even harder for the residents of
Atlantic City for the well the residents
of a car township. My slogan is super
mad because I like to be here there and
everywhere. I will be there and don't
text me, don't email me, pick up the
phone and call. I will serve the people.
I will work hard for the people and I
love what I'm doing and I will always do
it. Also, could you stand up for the
newly elected township? We had great
reasons on the name. She just got
elected.

for y'all who just got elected and and
um it's high uh
my main the president and it's always
good that we can merge uh Miss Floyd for
the township committee people, the
schoolboard people to work together. We

and work together with uh our board of
education staff. They showed up tonight.
They're here and I thank them for being
here. Thank each and everyone for being
here and uh let's have a good year, a
better year, a great year. Hey, one more
thing. One of my little babies raise
your hand.
That's one like a lot of kids that I
take under my wings. He showed up. All
right.

I can attest to that.

is actually thank my husband who Charlie
Fromer who's sitting right there. He's
been on this ride with me since the
beginning. And uh, it's, you know, it's
always interesting and we have actually
truly as a family loved living in Egg
Harbor Township. We raised our kids
here. They went through school from
kindergarten through 12th grade. Um, we
love it here. We love what this town is.
We love what this town represents. And
I'm so honored to be the mayor of this
town. I was honored to be on the
committee. I am incredibly honored to be
the mayor of this town and as I think
everybody up here is, we are here to do
what we can for the residents of this
town. So,
please come back to the meeting next
week, you know, or two weeks from now.
It's a good thing. So, but thank you.
And I just want to wish everybody happy

tonight, there's a special person in

we came from, nor neglect those we're
meant to serve. May we realize that
change doesn't happen magically. That
everything worthy requires effort and
sacrifice. that in order to accomplish
things we've never accomplished, to
become people we've never been, we must
make sacrifices we've never made and do
things we've never done. May we walk
away from this gathering determined to
find ways to an inspired life, absorb
the inspiration of others, and ourselves
become an inspiration. May we all walk
away with the will and courage to move
beyond ourselves and leave our mark on
our beloved community, county, state,
nation, and all of this world. So
