there I know sometimes it's a fabulous
job and I I know the hours you guys put
in and um thank you for your service
thank you
judge um I think last year when I swore
in Michael I said some things and I
think the best way to summarize this is
that um when when I hired law cler I
tried to tell them they needed to do
three things to be good lawyers three
things number one be on time number two
be prepared CU if you're prepared you're
a good Boer and number three he coures
to me which means that as lawyers
everybody thinks we just fight
but we settle things and we do that by
disagreeing without being
disagreeable and this young man who I've
known for a long time he checks all
those boxes and I think that the job he
does here for all you is a very very
good job um I have seen his work on your
behalf um mediated the case that he was
involved in and he has the best interest
in this town in mind no matter what he
does and I think that you're served very
well with his service and I'm honored to
[Music]
swear and raise your right hand I'm

to the best of my will according to the
best of my will I further affirm I
further affirm that I will support that
I will support the Constitution of the
United States the Constitution of the
United States and the state of New
Jersey and the state of New Jersey so
help me God so help me God

report mayor thank you all right we'll
have a mayor's address and then we'll go
back to a public and adjourned
meeting hello Hammond and I stand before
you today with the heart full of
gratitude and humbled by the incredible
opportunity I've had to serve as your
mayor for the last 15 years it has been
without a doubt the honor of a lifetime
to work alongside so many of you
striving to make hamton a better place
for all 15,000 of our
residents as I reflect on my time of
Mayor I am proud of what we accomplished
as a community but I also know nothing
of True Value is done alone the
achievements we celebrate today are not
mine alone nor the work of just a few
people rather they are the product of a
collective Spirit a spirit of
cooperation and the unshakable belief
that when we come together there is no
challenge we cannot
overcome over the last two decades
Hamilton has changed in many ways at the
time might have seemed
impossible we've invested in Safety and
Security for our town and today we have
a police force that is second to none
they stand ready to protect and serve
ensuring that Hamilton remains one of
the safest communities in New
Jersey we've also made significant
investments in our fire department
ensuring that they have the tools the
resources and the training they need to
keep us safe in times of
need we put our focus on infrastructure
as well through road work public
improvements and better planning for the
future you've seen as I have our roads
are smoother our sidewalks are safer and
our utilities more reliable we've
secured more grants in the past few
years than ever before we've secured
millions and millions of dollars funds
that allow us to continue making these
important changes without asking more
from our
taxpayers throughout all of this we've
re remained committed to supporting our
small businesses our Hometown Heroes who
keep the economy driving and our town
bustling whether it's the heart of Main
Street or Uptown Hamilton has become a
destination once again the spirit of
Entrepreneurship and collaboration runs
deep in this town and we're seeing it
come to life every
day another Milestone we can all be
proud of is the arrival of Stockton
University in our town bringing a
college town to Hamilton was a bold step
but it's already making a profound
impact enriching our communities
cultures in ways we could only have
dreamed of two decades
ago equally important is our partnership
with some of the Region's largest
employers such as Atlanticare and njm
these relationships provide
opportunities for our residents bringing
good paying jobs to our community and
contributing to our growth and
prosperity and despite all this growth
and progress we have remained phisically
responsible we've managed to make these
improvements while ensuring we do not
place an undue burden on the residents
we've done this by being smart with how
we spend our money and by planning
ahead the responsible decisions we've
made together have positioned us as a
town of the future a town with a Bright
Horizon one of the things I'm most proud
of is our culture a culture rooted in
kindness respect and volunteerism and
share traditions Hamilton is a place
where neighbors help neighbors
generation grow up together and where
Community becomes before anything else
and this year we celebrate a Monumental
Milestone the 150th anniversary of the
Mount Carmel Society Festival this Inc
carable tradition like so many others
reminds us of who we are and what we
stand for our values are Timeless our
future is built on that
Foundation as we grow it is crucial that
we hold our oursel to the highest
standards personally professionally and
as a community the education of our
children is the most important
investment and by supporting our schools
we secure Hamilton's
future I Call On The Board of Education
as public servant to focus on the best
interest of our students and community
in 2025 I hope the board will reaffirm
its commitment to its mission of setting
policy and overseeing the district's
operation with the well-being of every
student at the
Forefront the future of our children and
our town depends on this
dedication as we look ahead I want to
share with you a quote my father often
said to
me one tree can blow down in a field by
the wind but when there are several
trees and their Roots locked together
the wind cannot blow them down to me
this represents the strength and unity
we find when we work together when we
support one another when we lock arms in
our shared Mission no challenge is too
great no storm is too
strong I've tried over the 15 years to
be a mayor who listens first who puts
the needs of our residents ahead of
personal interest who always aims to do
what is right for the community not just
for the individual or a family or for
political gain this job hasn't always
been easy there have been many tough
decisions many difficult conversations
and sacrifices along the way but through
it all I've been committed to serving
you and our residents and to building a
future we can all be proud
of none of this would have been possible
without the incredible staff here at
Town Hall who work tirelessly each and
every day to serve you and I'm deeply
grateful for their dedication and hard
work I also want to recognize the
outstanding employees in our highway
department and wood and Sewer divisions
whose efforts behind the scenes ensure
the town remains safe clean and
wellmaintained for all the
residents I also want to thank my fellow
council
members who have been my partners in all
this together we've navigated challenge
celebrated successes and most
importantly always kept the best
interest of our town at the
Forefront and of course I am eternally
grateful to my family for their love and
support and patience
they have been the backbone of my
service without them I could not have
done this work with heart and commitment
that I always strive to give thank you
all thank you as I stand before you
tonight just one year away from
finishing my term as mayor and not
running again I want to assure you that
I'm as committed as ever to the future
of Hamilton there is still much to do
this final year and I want to continue
to give it all every single day to
ensure our town is stronger safer and
more United than ever we've built a
strong Foundation now it's time to keep
building together thank you for the
privilege of serving you let's continue
to work together as a team to make
hamton an even better place for
generations to come thank each and every
one of you and God bless you all
Hamilton thank
you public be heard if the public like
to be
heard please actually I got um oh go
ahead Micha I have one action item okay
that actually we need to address tonight
this just came up in the end of December
uh univista Township reached out and
sort of as a shot to them uh I guess for
them being part of our joint Municipal
Court the sheriff's department has now
refused to service their prescription
Dropbox um to pick it up I talk to our
chief uh and we can accommodate
bunavista Township and service their
Dropbox I just need this council's
authorization to proceed forward with
entering into a shared service agreement
which I'll have for our next meeting but
before that the chief has to send a
letter to the DEA getting a waiver and
authorization to do it so that we're the
municipality and agency taking care of
it instead of the sheriff's department
okay so this is basically when they when
they collect old medicines correct it's
when they they have a Dropbox for the
collection of prescription drugs that no
people no longer want the Atlanta County
Sheriff's Department was handling that
uh the sheriff appeared at their last
meeting and told them that they were no
longer going to be servicing it anymore
on their behalf uh which left them in a
scramble to find somebody new uh they
originally were going to go with
Franklin Township uh and uh the Franklin
Township due to political pressure back
out and then they came to us they wanted
to do us or Franklin uh at the time they
said Hold Up Franklin because they have
the police force uh or the police force
is right there and with their solicitor
knowing Franklin Township they were in
line but then due to political pressure
they backed out so uh I said well let me
talk to our chief I think we can do
something and I just need your
authorization to proceed forward with
the shared service agreement to service
univ Township's prescription Dr box and
okay so it's a motion for shared
services yep at no cost noost it's only
it's only once or twice a year that's it
okay may make the motion Marino first
second second Oliva discussion yeah
there's no political pressure here we'll
we'll do that without a problem did the
county sheriff provide them with a
reason as to why they're not doing it
any longer
um my understanding is he said they
weren't doing it anymore for anyone
however that wasn't the case they were
still doing it for for another
municipality when that was brought to
light it's my understanding that now
they're they may be withdrawing from
that municipality but I don't
know okay just just out of curiosity the
other municipality are they part of our
court system no okay did you have to ask
that
yes that was
pretty all right all in favor signify by
I I opposed motion carry thank you sorry
I you have anything else that came up at
the last minute and we had to not a
problem in order for us to take action
at our regular meeting in January with
the shared service we need that waiver
all right public be heard if anybody
like to come up to the
mic seeing no one uh anything else from
the good Council will close that public
portion might accept the motion to
adjourn motion mayor Mar first rodo
second all in favor good night hamton
very good
