yeah yeah thank yeah just take a few
minutes if everyone wants to get
photographs and
uh have a motion for recess
motion all in favor I any
okay
it's happen for the
record thank you for the record
councilman DZ left during the recess and
he will not be returning is that correct
he will
not
thank you I will move right into the
committee reports councilman
leads
sit so
everybody I lot of
people off
didn't
thank thank you
Council so want to congratulate on the
officers that I think
that's thing for our um I want to thank
10 no Police Department in Miss Alliance
everyone who came everyone who
participated everybody well with stre is
absolutely amazing never ending line of
kids hasn't been aout that it was a
really fun weather was perfect
not as far as economic development um
meeting the planning board to discuss in
of the economic element into the master
plan Ecom
commission is also going to be meeting
with other Economic Development
commissions from other
municipalities ways and services that we
could provide to our community in
Atlantic County as a whole so we work
together to to better our economy here
um um I just I left everybody a card on
offshore
win since we're talking about Economic
Development um there's been some studies
done that it's going to have a 15%
reduction in
tourism and I also read another article
today in the newspaper that said that
the tour are spending anding for early
so it has it does have potential to um
affect adversely affect our economy I'm
not going to talk about the whales and
dolphins because that's what
everybody um I'm very much for renewable
energy this is enough this is and green
energy but this is in my opinion is one
what I've
researched so what I'd like Council to
consider is um a
referendum work in opposition of all
SCH no that's not what I meant
resolution
so um I know lywood has done it um a
number of
the
done doing that I can get a copy of the
lywood one that
we and that is it
for thank you
Council M
Smith thank you Mr President I also want
to extend my congratulations to the
sergeant they will serve faithfully and
represent the city well so it's just
cheap there now but we want to wish them
well and this new role for them and uh
we know they we in good
hands the northw med school the next
meeting will be October 23rd Monday
night uh prior to our next meeting up to
report there little league and and B
Ruth that little league is fing for
baseball is coming to the end of their
fall season we wish them well as they
come to the end of The Fall season uh
ask some questions about F juice and and
some work of there but council deise is
not here but um I'll reach out to him
with that I know the president has a
question about that so I'll reach out to
council and D on that and the central
municipal courts there was a a meeting
with the county court I wasn't able to
attend but Council Le was able to attend
and I I appreciate Council Le stepping
in there and reaching out to me
following that meeting to to kind of
share some information
the question comes is you know we're
supposed to be exiting the courts and
and emerge with or shared service with
uh Hamilton
is supposed to take effect beginning of
the year questions I know send to jump
in to get some answers for some
questions
from Rapid transition I don't know if
there update I haven't received anything
since we spoke there okay I know there
actually there was one letter sent to
judge Lee by Mike msky summarizing what
we all spoke about
and he heard yet if he did I would think
I would know we're awaiting words to
hear that just a full go ahead there
there's some questions that be answered
approval from people in positions of
power above us so we're hopeful that
comes through in short order but uh
we'll let you know
that
we that's all I
have as it stands if
the uh Fe Court doesn't approve us then
we we've
already voted to exit from corre the
municipal court
from Court
so your options would be to open a court
or get back into that which sounds to me
like they want us to stay in the temp I
don't know that I indication otherwise
so I don't know that that would be a
problem
but thank that our fees would be raised
if we
would yeah why why was it but did you is
that a spanking or is that there the
cost of crunching of the
numbers one thing be
Elin on security
company you should have your off you're
they do not have restant
because
that off off the
street AR are the sheriffs still in the
building
no uh is that Council Smith
yeah councilwoman Kang thank you C
president um congratulations to Sergeant
Ben Ben and heler um for your continued
service for cultural committee um they
received this medal I just want to tell
Council about this this kind of cool um
there was a medal that was given to
cultural committee along with a savings
bond and it's from the family of CLA
critz which dates back to 1951 or
1952 and Claire received it was through
the school and she received medal for
the naming of birch gr Park and at that
point in time Birch gr Park I guess had
a bunch of birch trees but then right
after several years after there was a
birch blight and I guess it's like a
dick and it affected all the trees and
so there's no more birch trees and every
time they tried to plant a birch tree um
it wouldn't be that's fun fact about
Birch growth that I didn't know so um
they have this metal and they're working
to put some display together for that um
November 18th cultural committee is
going to be hosting fall flea market um
table the tables are $25 each and the
paperwork will be coming shortly through
our City website um look out for that um
mainland all I have is the next meeting
is October 16th at
6m and I wanted to just give a big thank
you to everybody who was involved both
with the classic car show that was an
awesome turnout and it was a great day
and it was gorgeous out and also for the
um trunk attry because as everybody else
said just Echo that it was it was
awesome there was a lot of people we
thought we were going to run out of
hand great job for everybody involved
all ah have thank you councilman thank
you Mr President I um I don't have
anything you know specific in my uh
committees to report but um I'd just
like to congratulate uh Chief vonin and
his new team and uh the newly sworn uh
sergeants um congratulations all you I'm
sure you're going to do a great job as
you as you have been um also um
unfortunately I had to miss the trunk
retreat but again uh well done you know
our clerk's office and and Shannon
organizing that uh our police department
and everybody else involed um it's a
it's a great event and um I think uh
maybe the shore local news magazine next
year may do a little something in their
magazine about so uh that would be uh
good for the event as well so that's all
I have thank
you I for my committees I we have a
library committee meeting this Thursday
so uh I'll something more to report at
the next meeting um and again I I'd like
to extend my sincere gratitude for with
um the service from the Department
police department and uh especially like
to congratulate uh Jeff fence
and dtin her and thank them specifically
their service and studying
hard
Chief that's all I have for my
committee U moving on did we have some
discussion for the committee um
regarding
the we want any discussion trucks
or
um nothing else on the other AD
hwks ongoing storm water nothing back
from the
county all
right and we are still in process with
development uh that went the paperwork's
on out
to yeah I think Ramy you're in the
process of getting those two habitat lot
surveys so that's for 6611 9
1.02 yes so we got the title report back
for Jackson
Avenue and turns out that we don't
actually own it even though it's on our
tax rols uh as City exempt uh the last
date of record is from
1992 and it goes into an entity called
JP rail
Incorporated um so I sent an email I
just got the title report over the
weekend Sun Sunday um so
uh we have a couple options I want to I
want to find out from Nancy and Tiffany
how that affects our Co-op plan since it
is in our Co-op plan uh we need to find
out from the tax acceptor and collector
what that means because the property has
been exempt for years uh so see what
what the
taxation uh options are uh and I guess
the one thing I could do is to try to
reach out to try to find JP rail Inc and
see if they'd like to Quick Claim feed
it to us uh maybe was missed in their
prior Deeds where they convey a bunch of
those railroad Parcels uh to the variant
cities but with your permission I'm
happy to do that just wanted to see if
that's something you wanted me to look
into is that something first we should
check with uh Tiffany and yeah yeah I
guess we'll find out from Tiffany and
Nancy whether it matters maybe it
doesn't matter um yeah may do an overlay
same as any other other proper we don't
own and I think you know to get it back
on the pack BS is important too because
not on that right
now thank you
sure anything with the new
brands
you want to mention the the federal
funding aspect where it's like a
fiveyear thing
well
the federal re them that they pay for
for design phase yeah they will what
they will
do they'll do
yeah that puts the project back what our
normal course be when is this when is
the
grant
November deadline how long did it take
for them
to we can use the grant to pay for the
design
phase we can't okay Grant just okay and
do we have to match anything for the
grant no match
okay 100% reimb okay so we would just so
same difference so we instead for
keep
okay so do you need anything else from
us or move
forward
can take care of it or if Brian would
prefer to as uh leaz onto the
school at the next meeting I can bring
it up to them or I can approach they
they provided us with a template that
has sort of the sort of the the tone of
the information that they're looking for
so I can share that with you yes um and
they also suggested that we do
a uh School travel plan with cross
country Cross County
Connection
I'll forward you the template
tonight okay uh everyone can please
refer to to

everyone who participated I want to
announce that Shannon and I will be
working on a uh event for the Veterans
Day it will be on a Saturday we haven't
gotten all the particulars as far as

uh observe Veterans Day uh I will be
attending through the mayor's
conference uh of New Jersey uh a meeting
on the excuse me H housing the next
housing round
um and let me just give you just a
little brief idea of what's going on
here uh through the Mayors Association
New Jersey the mayor has established a
mayor's working group to identify
challenges and ideas of common interest
and develop concrete constructive
proposals for legislative and
administrative consideration especially
in light of the upcoming 2025 reportal
hous fourth round as part of this
important initiative the working group
will convene two uh inperson mayor round
taes and conduct a third Forum via St
excuse me Zoom to fully engage in hear
from the League's membership and
solicitor ideas for or solicit ideas for
the reforms so I'll get back to council
when that meeting does
occur I do also have from Atlanta County
Department of Public Safety uh regarding
the Atlanta County local Road Safety
plan in cooperation with the South
Jersey Transportation Planning
organization requests from the city of
Northfield participation in our upcoming
local Road Safety plan Workshop in early
November the Atlanta County local road
safety program will plan to identify and
prioritize strategies and actions to
reduce fatal and serious injuries
crashes on County and Municipal roads
strategies may include infrastructure
measures as well as strategies related
to improve education enforcement and
emergency response um so it doesn't cost
anything to participate do we want who
do we want to give it to um our engineer
or you have someone else in mind for
something to attend this meeting council
president um I guess makes makes most
sense is that something you'd be able to
attend

believe we have several applicants for
November uh you all have received a
email from me regarding I know it's not
on the agenda but an email about some
concerns from vendors with our proposed
ordinance on the food uh trucks so uh we
can you can take it from there Mr
President in that respect there
okay and finally by the northfi police
department stats for September of this
year uh there were two
robberies three thefts 12 adult arrests
juvenile arrests there were 18 motor
vehicle stops were
285 summonses we gave out 20 212 crash
reports 17 gun permits are 11 uh of
Officer initiated calls were
1,7 and hours spent on calls and reports
for four excuse me
545 so total calls for service were
2020 uh that's the end of my report if
Council anybody have any questions for
me thank you council president than
you uh Engineers

that the and on o are we still looking
at doing some slip lining there is
yes is that going to be the same section
where we're doing the manhole
