for Northfield city council November
28th of
20123 May have a uh this meeting was
properly advertised in accordance with
public law 1975 chapter 231 and in the
Press of Atlantic City on January 7th of
this year may I have a flag salute by by

now we'll move right into our committee
reports councilman
lead thank you um so for the month of
October were

53 I want to congratulate the
M football
team blow6 nothing pretty impressive
Championship I also want to thank all
the fire from
norfield
point for bring home and sty
unfortunately there was a head
Collision as the pr stting
and the were very busy and want to
thank chief on Colin for jumping in
helping his off with the
team pretty pay there for a little bit
everybody was safe and all that very
long that's all
I thank you
council tonight is um Quinn and I met
with Mr Brady and did a walk through bir
par this gol um it doesn't seem
unreasonable I'm working on
getting a price together so we can see
how we're going to approach this I'll
have that for the next meeting okay

also congratulate the mainland football
team um in their undefeated season and
winning the state
championships um Municipal Alliance

Christine Italian past pastries was is
the one that do eting the gingerbread so
I just want to give a shout out to them
as um that was very nice of them to do
that also U Northfield Police Department
is participating in the holidays with
Heroes on 122 um Northfields they're
accepting checks um at Northfield PD
payable to EHT pal it's still okay to
send to hand them in
Chief um and that's all for me thank you

just want to Echo the congratulations
for the program at mland I also want to
note that besides the athletes the
student athletes on the the team and the
steer leading squad and in the band
there also uh number of coaches who are
northfi residents the head coach coach
and and coordinator are also Northfield
residents and taxpayers so uh we
congratulate the entire staff as well
for their
accomplishments
um and that's really all I have Mr thank
you counc HEK council president um uh
the cultural committee had their flea
market everything turned out fine as far
as I know I was not able to attend um
that's what I hear and a shout out to
all of our first responders who assisted
with the parade for Mainland it was
amazing um we had a bunch of family from
out of town and they just said this is
what a small town should you know looks
like and they were really happy to see
all the presents not just through
Northfield but through all three town
and um it was it was just great to see
and it was a great event overall in
addition to football um tennis the band
and also the cross country team all won
certain titles in their their field so
congratulation to all those teams the
next board meeting is December 18th at
6m if anybody wants to attend that's
all Council um thank you Mr President
I'd also like to Echo the um
congratulations on all all of our uh
many teams in our community that that
have have won these championships um I
was very blessed this year to be a part
of uh the mainlands win uh all season
long it was a historic season um the
community as support and the support
from our Police Department our fire
department also Lynwood's Fire
Department police department Summer's
Point um the parade was amazing uh it
was just we went through all the towns
up around uh MacArthur Boulevard back to
Mainland amazing just uh to see the
people coming out and standing on the
streets and cheering them on um also
from uh fan we had a couple winners um
we had the uh Cape Atlantic junor
football League championships for peeee
and JV as well that's all I have they
won as well yes w y i all the games
going on Saturday yeah Champion
yeah thanks y oh I will be remiss
invting congratulate them as well and
and and the other coach Smith
and and the main their football team for
quite an outstanding season and
dedication uh hopefully he gets to rest
a little because I know he starts he'll
probably start next season in a couple
weeks so um congratulations to all
then that's all I I have no other
committee
report um I don't believe we have any
updates on the ad hwks
um and sure water so um we're still
waiting to hear back from habitat the uh
they do have the survey so um when we
hear back we'll have something more to
report to see uh what they anticipate
for that for those two uh the two sites
up on dolin
Avenue uh the new grants uh
we thank you yeah I saw we got a letter
from the count the uh County Executive
supporting it and uh asking the state to
take that into account and what what it
that it would be a good good thing
for

um so we do have two grants thank you
Mary on the
agenda one for the uh fire department
they're both from the fire department
one for rescue plan for firefight Arena
and then the other from South J Gap so
um it's always good to get whatever we
can from these these grants these
opportun are out
there um the next item being the A
reord
and requirement is that we have to have
reward within the first seven
days I about the
second so uh is that a date that works
for
everyone
reor either that or we do a set or we
would do a special meeting Thursday
or is that an earlier meeting no four we
have four o'clock you should right uh no
we would just do it I mean what am I
saying a budget yeah regular I'm

yeah we could do it
early um yeah we could do it I mean go
back I do but I have jury duty
so jury duty I do oh boy well that's
done by th
um we that fine with
me okay so we'll plan on the secondary
for the reward 6
PM I think we usually push it till 7 but
we don't need to do
that that so a good 6m 6m

Mr Mayor thank you council president uh
first of all I have a letter from County
Executive Dennis levenson uh this is a
letter in support for northfield's
application to the New Jersey Department
of Transportation for funding under the
safe routes to school grant program uh I
urge the New Jersey do to strongly
consider this application for funding as
it will promote the health and safety of
our residents and in particular our
children who are our
future I Reed an update with regards to
the um proposed project at the county
for the
dases uh home for senior citizens uh let
me just preface by saying uh he is
working uh this is with the Mr Ferguson
he I'm working with the city
professionals that is the COA attorney
and the COA planner to develop an
amended housing element and fair share
plan and Zone in the overr overlay
ordinance uh he hopes that the draft
will be finished within the next two
weeks and at that point once that has
been accomplished then he will be
seeking uh uh before the planning board
approval for these changes as a
regulatory requirement in January and
then have Council begin the adoption
process in January also
simultaneously uh the city will have to
seek their affordable hous and
settlement agreement modified to include
this project uh the court hearing for
this is tedly scheduled for January 22nd
of
2024 uh once these elements have been
put in place we will then begin or they
will then begin the process of chasing
down the money uh in order to get the
preliminary approval for funding in
March uh they will need from the Atlanta
County between now and February an
agreement for the sale of the property
and they will make hopefully they can
meet uh with them in the next several
weeks regarding this the second
announcement is I just want to remind
everyone that uh the annual mayor's tree
lighting contest will be um started for
December as usual and anyone who's
interested both a business as well as
residential can pick up an application
from the city clerk's office also I want
to announce excuse me that the holiday
decorating uh event that's held here at
City Hall uh will be on uh excuse me
December the 11th at 7 p.m and I believe
the fire department will have hot
chocolate and cookies first oh the first
I'm sorry the first they're gonna have
hot chocolate and cookies and S and
Santa we going to be driving through and
uh let's see the next thing that's tree
Li that's the tree light I'm sorry okay
and let's see and the last announcement
is that uh tomorrow Wednesday in the
morning the uh police
committee which is made up of councilman
leads and councilman theise councilman
president Palestina myself will be
meeting with the police PBA negotiation
team here at the off here in City Hall
uh right now the we will be submitting a
proposal to the police PBA uh this is a
a conglomerate of discussion between the
committee and with our labor attorney so
that's all I can have the report on that

interested in maybe trying to seek a
grant uh for Birch Grove Park uh I would

presentation made with for
him certain
