Public comment

Harold Hill praised recent concerts and community events, commended city departments (including public works) for improvements, and highlighted the fire cadet program.

A resident reported Joker Field will not receive turf (grant denied); the city has reapplied for natural grass and will delay major work until after the current season; some repairs and fencing are funded and expected before the season starts.

A resident warned the EPA may stop the Price’s Superfund cleanup and requested information and city support to prevent a shutdown of long‑running remediation efforts.

A resident asked the city to address panhandlers on corners and to provide clear, mailed instructions on trash/yard waste pickup days and protocols (not just website notices).

A long public comment raised detailed questions about the PILOT (payment‑in‑lieu‑of‑taxes) program and requested documents/answers dating back to December 2025; council/staff said records and specialists will be consulted and follow‑up provided.

when will they start the work?
>> So, this is the same uh contract that we
approved last year. It's just that that
contract comes and then that we know the
year's up. So, we have to remove the
contract. The work should be started
immediately. Uh they have already
identified the uh uh construction
company that's going to do the work. So,
they should be starting right away. In
fact, tomorrow at 10:00, I have a precon
meeting.
uh with the with the team.
>> So you think they'll know an exact date
tomorrow?
>> Yeah, right after meeting we'll know the
exact start date. Um myself,
construction official and uh public
works.
>> Okay.
>> One more.
>> In this agreement, are we going to have
fence around that area while there's two
constructions going on? That's highly
imperative.
>> Generally, that that does happen.
anytime doing any type of construction
they they generally put a fence around.
I'll find out what the circumference
fence is going to be tomorrow. And if
it's [clears throat] around the building
itself where the project is actually
happening, that's one thing. But I think
you're talking about around the entire
>> No, no, it could be around not around.
It could be around the building. We
don't want nobody going in and out of
there.
>> No, that'll be
>> I like to show that.
All right. Thank you. No, you're
welcome.
>> Any other questions?
like
madam CFO
>> good evening
okay so in review of the billice if we
go to
uh the page that's listed as register by
checking there's only one pager
and if we look at
at the fourth item down Ken's Adams. Ken
Adams Oil Service. That's for the
generator.
>> Oh, okay.
>> At the
at the rec center.
And um and right above it, I'm sorry, I
missed that one. That's the New Jersey
American Water $5,500.
Any questions? On page one, we check it.
Yes,
>> this $5,500. This is for the that one
month or
>> this is a monthly payment.
>> So it's a monthly payment and we haven't
even turned on the splash pad yet.
>> Correct.
>> I'm just saying with the council member
real.
>> Okay. Thank you.
>> Any other questions? Good. Okay. So, now
we're going to page one
of the purchase order listing.
If you look
at the fifth item down for Dell, Inc.,
again, this is the recreation center. We
are building it as we go. Um, and this
is for computers and it's from insurance
proceeds for $1,44248.
Any questions on that page?
Is this for one um computer?
>> Yes. And it has the software to it.
>> So,
>> yes, sir.
>> So, my question is for is that this is
just for one computer for the rec
center? That that what we
>> That's what That's what um
>> that's the only one that's coming in.
>> That's the only one that's coming in
right now.
>> We order three.
>> We ordered three. Yes.
>> All right. Actually, we have others
coming in.
>> And they ship them. They bill us as they
ship them out. I
>> don't know why they do that, but
>> No, I I understand. I was just concerned
with the one.
>> Oh, no. There's more coming.
>> The um just as an FYI, the software that
she's talking about is the Microsoft
uh suite. Each individual that has that
has a $438
>> $438 just the software
>> just for the software that has to be um
put on each of the computers.
>> Now what about for the classrooms? Are
we ordering computers for the classroom
for the computer lab or this just for
the employees?
>> It's just for employees. There there
wasn't any computers in there in the
first place.
>> Yeah. So that would be end of budget
for something else but go ahead.
>> Okay. So if we move on to page two
if you look pretty much to the middle of
the page command code.
This is the last and final payment.
Uh and this is for the unity part that
they finished up the landscaping.
And this is uh D grant funded. It's
$94,78.94.
>> Okay. I have a question. Um once we make
this last payment, um will our
reimbursement start?
>> Oh yes. Oh yes. I'm ready. Once this is
approved, I got all my paperwork
together. I want my money.
>> [laughter]
>> Great. Thank you.
>> You're welcome.
>> Any other questions on page two? Page
three.
>> And this is Councilman Ogal's favorite
one.
>> Air condition.
>> No, not yet. Not yet.
>> Can you figure it out, Councilman? Is
>> No. What's
>> line two? Line two of page three.
Okay.
>> Pedestrian safety. [clears throat]
>> This is the
um the pedestrian safety grant.
[laughter]
>> So, the work is done
>> and um now they're looking to get paid.
So,
>> thank you.
>> Thank you.
>> Oh, can I just for the record? Um I just
noticed it when I was coming here. Um,
one of the um, speedometers for South
Main Street School is out.
>> Thanks.
>> South. Thank you. We will do that. South
[laughter] Main Street School.
>> I hear you ma'am.
>> You got it, boss. Okay.
>> All right. So, we go to page four.
If you [clears throat] look towards the
middle of the page, um again, this is
for the rec center and uh this is for
the um HVAC system.
It was $12,200
and the work is done complete. Now
they're get now they want to get paid
and again this is all from the insurance
proceeds.
Any questions?
On page four,
we are looking at um towards the middle
of the page. 51,8
[clears throat] excuse me, $51,187
is for the shot spotter
Yeah. U Mr. Ba. Yes. Do you think it's
possible we get a report from the PD
just how many just how many calls we are
getting off the shot spot?
>> Sure.
>> You know, just have a a number. So we
are we are absolutely welcome here.
>> Go ahead.
>> Thank you.
>> Any other questions folks?
Okay, that concludes my uh bill list.
>> One more seor
for the fire department. Hold on to that
thought.
>> It's um part of the bond ordinance
amendment that we just approved tonight.
>> Yes,
>> we we included it on there. So, what
happens is in prior years there has been
some bond money left over. So, we are
amending it for the purpose that it was
issued for to other purposes that are
eligible as bond items and the HVAC is
>> is one of them.
>> All right. Thank you.
>> That's two for you.
>> Yeah. We just got to get the company to
get installed. Thank you for the hard
work that we've been trying to get
there.
>> All right, folks. Thank you. Thank you.
>> I'm satisfied.
>> Another motion to close the work
session.
>> Second.
>> All in favor?
>> Good evening everyone. This is the city
council meeting.
Um, today's July the 6 and the time is
6:48.
This meeting has been duly advertised in
the city newspapers in conformance with
the open public meetings act otherwise

>> Swepson
>> Gibson

>> May I have a motion to dispense previous
minutes?
>> Motion. They have a second.
>> Second.
>> All in favor?
>> Mayor, any accommodations,
proclamations? Nothing.
>> Next is public portion. First, we have
Mr. Harold Hill.
>> Good evening, council.
>> Good evening, sir. As you know, as
stated before, only time I come up here
is just something to complain about,
seriously in the city, or something to
promote. Tonight, again, it's one of
those times to promote the city.
[laughter]
I want to thank everybody up on council,
everybody, mayor, all around the city.
Y'all have been doing a wonderful job.
Yesterday, we had a good concert. It was
an outstanding concert wrecking a lot of
people. It was positive.
The other thing was [clears throat]
I want to thank y'all for getting these
lights down Main Street. Nice. I know
there's a lot more work to be done, but
we're headed [clears throat] in the
right direction.
>> Another thing, fire department, heads
up, 100%. The cadet
program,
>> the cadet program was nice
>> and it was very inspiring to a lot of
young people and inspiring to a lot of
older people too because I was like with
it I'm miss out on
so I also want to thank you for the jazz
concert jazz
outstanding again. Very nice lovely
time.
>> You guys did a good job. Um, I want to
know whoever put the cadet, the digital
creator for that, the video that they
did on the fire department.
>> That did.
>> Excellent. Excellent. Very
inspirational.
And if you could get to that person and
tell him get that information out, I'll
repost his information and try to get
him more content to do. Um,
we also have another business that just
started up on the old turnpike. Fivestar
ice cream.
nice young lady. I visit her spot and
she's I hope she does very well.
>> Uh
thanks to Kyrie and the public works
department. They've been doing an
excellent job throughout the city. I
mean, all I can say is 2005 was nice.
2006 is getting better. And I'm thinking
200 7 8 9
I would make it pleasant. It's going to
be where it should be.
>> So once again, thank you.
Congratulations
to all.
>> Thank you. Thank you.
>> Wow.
>> We're in the house, right?
>> Good evening everyone.
>> I was going to start out by um giving
you some of the sad compliment.
[laughter]
You know, I'm very, you know, I would
honestly say that I'm very happy with
our city council and the way things seem
to be going with our city. You know,
this is serious business. And, you know,
to think that people are taking city um
things seriously and doing the best they
can for our city makes you feel good
when you're working for the best
interest of the city as we do as
community members. So, I do u thank all
of you, every one of you that I see in
front of me for the the work that I see
you doing in our community.
>> Thank you.
>> Thank you, sir.
>> As far as the events have, they've been
wonderful. community park. I mean, it's
it's like fulfilling its purpose in so
many ways. It brings such positive um um
influence and positive things to say
about Pleasantville and I'm just so glad
we have it going and I thank you for
those things as well cuz those those
events have been thoroughly enjoyable. I
almost didn't have energy to come here
tonight for me just partying.
>> Tim, can I add something? So Tim did ask
me in the middle of him dancing, he
stopped. He's saying, "Who's paying for
all of this?" You know, I got to ask the
question. You know what I mean? Being
responsible, right? Got to ask the
question. Good. Um, but another thing,
um, um, I have two issues I'd like to
ask questions about. First is the status
of the Joker's Field. I understand
there's been some, um, issues cuz
they're looking forward to having new
field seasons coming and things are not
ready. Could you give us any information
on the status of Joker Field?
>> Yes. Uh so
>> unfortunately
uh we've been denied the uh turf field.
Um that's a situation that kicked out to
D. They don't mind us having a turf
field. They just don't want to pay for
it. So the grant was coming through
them. Um that's okay. we've reapplied um
to, you know, do the field over with
natural grass, but now obviously their
season's coming up now. I don't want to
start tanning up in the middle of their
season. So, I'll wait till next year to
to to do the natural grass, you know, do
that over again. So, yeah, most of the
other repairs are being done, the
pictures, the fence, and stuff like
that. We've garnered grants for those
things. We now identified the funding
for it. We're ready to move forward. We
get those things done. they'll be ready
before their season starts.
>> Very good. And have you talked to any
individual about those concerns on the
field condition and things like that?
>> Yes. Absolutely. Yeah. Very great. Thank
you.
>> And I would like to bring up something
that I've just heard about and I just
it's it's a matter of importance enough
to bring to the public attention and
we've had a little conversations here
and there about it, but I I keep hearing
things about the EPA planning to stop
the super fun cleanup site for Prices P.
This is, as you know, this is a
historical thing for this area and it's
been a process of bringing um pumping
toxic waste from that area for probably
the last 30 years and it's scheduled to
go on for another 50 60 years. But in
this current federal government, I think
there are um entities that are looking
to just save money and just cut it and
match saying it's nothing to be
concerned about. And as a community,
we're not going to stand for that if we
can do anything about it. So, I'm
asking, you know, as much information
and support from the um cities to help,
you know, to know what's going on with
that because I haven't seen anything
about it, but we don't want them to just
say magically shut all it off and then
we got toxic waste rising up out of the
ground all over the place.
>> Okay.
>> All right. Thank you.
>> Thank you.
>> Next, we have Miss Michelle Archie.
>> Good evening, everyone.
And I want to piggy back off from what
Mr. Hill said yesterday was very nice
and I really appreciate it and thank you
everyone who had participated in that.
Um I have a few things that I want to
say. First I want to say um what can we
do about the pan hammer on the corners
>> because it doesn't look nice when you
ride through Pleasantville and all these
pan hammers all over the place. And I
know one time I was in EHT,
the cop made them move and they ain't
come back. The cops say you can't be out
here. But in Pleasantville, they come,
they on the corners all day, half the
night. No, the cops ride by. Nobody says
anything to them. So, it's not a good
sight. Especially when you're at the
light and they coming up to your car
with a sign. We got to do better. We got
to get the cops involved. Make them tell
these people, "You can't be on these
corners. You got to move. It's easy.
Easy fix. That's number one. Number two,
as I ride around the city, my
neighborhood, I see where people are
putting a lot of debris out front of
their houses, grass clippings, all that
kind of stuff.
I believe people don't really know what
the protocol is because there's nothing
to tell the people. You have no
paperwork. You have a website.
Everybody's not on a computer. Everybody
don't have a computer. So to say, "Oh,
it's on a website." [clears throat]
That's invalid because people don't
know. So what we need to do is get a
paper, right, of everything that needs
to be done. What day is trash day? What
day is pickup day? What day the city's
closed? They're not picking up grass
clippings because the stuff sit from one
week to another week.
So maybe we could do a mass mailing
inside the
um tax bill, the sewer bill. Do a mass
mail like that so people will know what
is expected of them because
Pleasureville is a nice city and I like
living here.
>> So if I didn't like it, I wouldn't be
saying anything about it. So, I'm here
to help build my community to make it
look good because when I go to other
communities, it looks very nice. And I
would like to see Pleasantville do the
same thing.
So, what was one more thing I had to
say?
[clears throat]
>> Nice. We concur.
>> So, maybe we can come together and work
on that.
>> I be willing to help y'all. Y'all need
help. thing.
>> Yep. And it was one more thing, but I
can't remember right this minute. There
was three things I want to talk about,
but when I remember, I'll let you know.
[laughter]
>> Mr. S is on my mind what uh Miss Archie
was saying, maybe we can add something
to the marquee.
>> Sure. That's do.
>> Thank you.
>> Thank you.
>> Next, we have Mr. Dell Archie. Good
evening everyone.
>> How's everybody been doing?
>> I just want to say that y'all got a
department called co enforcement. They
doing a great job. I don't know who's
working over there. I want to do
something over there and recognize them
folks and go over there, [laughter]
you know, compliment, you know, cuz
they're doing an excellent job.
>> Pleas
riding by, you know, and I see some
sites. I'm like always said is gold
mine. hidden general said that.
>> But I'm here tonight for
I guess um Oh, madam cl could you please
pass it to all the councilman except the
new guy but you can give us yours if you
like madam president only because he
might not come in. We had a a summer
workshop in reference to the Apollo
program and a gentleman um came to the
city of Pleasville and he did the
workshop on a Saturday
>> and we all fended from that. Now
councilman Oby was there Barlay and he
wasn't but Victor was there but Barklay
and Victor was at the municipal league
municipalities and we sat with the same
gentleman and also mentioned this to Mr.
Betts also about the power program. So,
I submitted some questions and it
started on
December
the 11th, 2025.
I haven't received an answer yet.
Madame Nunes responded back a while back
saying that she has it and she can move
forward. I CC it to the BA. But still to
this day, and I don't think it's fair
because I I don't disrespect anyone. I
don't think you guys are disrespecting
me. But I'm like, what happened? They
were valid questions. They um Swanson, I
I gave her Councilwoman a copy of it,
what I had drafted up and there are
questions. So, no disrespect to you,
Councilman Gibson. Much respect to you.
But I think I'll pass it to you so you
can see it. Let's do it. So, I want to
know what happened. What where's the
answers at? Like what what was going I
mean oh one more thing do we have a
person in present that's taken on the
issues in reference to the pilot program
and know about the power program.
>> Oh we don't have anyone.
>> Yes. No we have we have a redevelopment
attorney who deals with the pro payment
in le of taxes
>> all the time just on the field. But but
they are not a custodian of records to
produce documents, but they are the one
who deals with the agreements and any of
the financial agreements that go along
with it.
>> What I had written up, it went to Mr.
>> Janetti.
>> No, it didn't go to Janet.
>> No, it went to the
>> Richard. What was it? machine went to
him
>> and because that's what was supposed to
be getting the stuff and there some of
the things didn't apply to him as for
the appropriate department you know who
can but somebody has to be able to
answer this cuz these are valid
questions but like I said the gentleman
that came on Saturday he had a wealth of
knowledge credentials from the beginning
to the end and if you don't have anybody
that has dime those credentials it's
like if we want the best
you got to get the dress. No disrespect
to anyone else. And the gentleman that
who you have, if he can work with the
guy and piggy back off him to learn
stuff, great.
>> Very competent attorney.
>> Well, I hear what you're saying, but as
if it's a female.
>> Wow. [laughter]
And like you some
about this president is ran by just
about all women anyway.
>> School board and lot of other
departments, code enforcement, a lot of
departments and president.
[clears throat]
So that's that's neither here nor there.
But I also say when you're doing good,
you get the credit. When you're doing
bad, come at you. Doesn't matter
if you male or female. I'm fair. So if
we can't get that gentleman that we sit
here on everywhere, bring him in
Pleasantville, help us out. He's a
forensic guy in reference to checking
things, do eyes, and crossing tees. I'm
telling y'all if we don't just we found
out there's money that we losing out on.
It's tons of money been losing out on.
I'm only I'm begging you guys to be with
you.
>> Get this gentleman in so we can get the
money that we've been missing for years.
>> We've been missing money for years. Make
a long story short when I did the 10year
question. One of the 10 F programs for
10 years. How much did President Bill
recoup? $2 point something million
dollars 10 years out of a pilot program
that means we wasn't getting the full
value of the money and you do a pilot
program you're supposed to ask one
question if I don't do the pilot program
how much what will I be getting if I do
a pilot program how much will I be
getting I was told a couple times no you
don't ask for that the gentleman came in
asked me a question says yes you do YOU
GOT TO KNOW WHAT you're getting or what
you're not going to get that's just like
it's like common sense so who am I one
black man
>> living in president. It's all I am. And
I'm asking the people that sitting on my
dasis who's been duly elected, the BA
CF,
right? I know your name, but see if I'm
right.
>> M I ain't even y'all either. Come on
y'all, man. I'm not y'all either. Come
on. I'm begging y'all. We can get the
money just like the young lady said
here. Are we getting some money now? But
guess what? There's more money we can
get. It's legal, but we losing out on it
because we didn't get the help that we
needed. I ain't got to throw nobody's
name out there, but we didn't. It's
plain example. When you read the stuff,
you know the stuff you a student in
that. You know that. You read stuff. You
learn things. If you don't read, you
wrote down.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't know anything about what I
learn, man. It's like now young.
>> So, I was going to ask if you can um
When you say a copy of this
>> so you can give to Janetti and Crystal.
>> Okay. Yeah.
>> I'm just I'm sitt
>> Yes, sir.
>> I was under the impression that bringing
that guy in was supposed to answer those
questions that we had. I again I was
under the impression secondary and I
represented one municipality that he was
in
>> and look it doesn't make him the expert.
So what we what we decided to do is
let's look at
>> he principalities
>> he did he he he was the presenter of the
lead principalities. Right.
>> Right.
>> He has more knowledge than Janetti.
Janetti's background was based on
getting buildings built not the pilot
program. The pilot program says you
should have an attorney that specialize
in pilot programs so you know you're
getting the best big bang for your buck.
Right. Now you say you do, but if that's
the case, you couldn't even get my
questions answered cuz it didn't go
nowhere.
>> Right. All right. If you had the best
person, I ain't cut off. If you had the
best person,
>> can you explain? Let me just finish
this. Let me finish this. If you had the
best person in that position, then why
my question wasn't answered since
December 11th 2025.
Well, the man of color attorney would
>> you answer that question?
>> Well, I would like to say
>> that's the worst question right there.
>> I know it is, but I give you I can't
give you the answer to it. But what I
would like to say is I you and I going
to have to get together because I sent
you a link with all the documents.
Unfortunately, as it pertains to Oprah,
Oprah doesn't answer questions. So, if
you send me a Oprah and it's a list of
questions, Oprah is open public record.
So, I can only give you records. So if
you're asking me what is the time frame,
I'm not going to be able maybe Mr.
Bashimi as a tax with a CFO. But what I
can do is um
we sent you I sent you a link a Dropbox
of all the documents pertaining dropped.
>> Okay, I'll send it again cuz the link
exp.
I'll do that. If you if you go on the
same old horse,
>> you going to go down the same old path.
And it's old saying, if you do what you
have always done,
>> you going always get what you always
done.
>> But there was a turkey on that, Mr.
Arine.
Yeah, we had
>> a lot of these question.
>> You have to keep in mind these college
programs are prior to the attorneys that
we have current that did work on. But if
I'm saying you do hold on to this
information now,
>> well simply when you're asking question
>> these are these are question that deals
with the Mr. Archie and clerk.
>> Yes.
>> So So you two are going to get together,
right?
>> No, we can't. No, we can't. She can't
help you in this.
>> Well, well, I I'll I'll send me what she
say.
>> I'll seek it fine. and if what I can or
can't because sometimes you can't be
responded because you're asking
questions and they're not documents. But
if there's particular questions, I will
go out.
So So um madam clerk, I'm sorry.
>> Um maybe you could sit with Mr. Argie
and maybe he can rephrase the questions.
>> No, no. What I'm do
or he can sit with Mr. B.
>> He got he the same. Okay. So the same
exact information is information as as
the clerk said that we have to you know
rely on old documents old information.
So it's the same stuff that she would
pull. It's just that we can't answer
questions. That's all.
>> But that's to see if if our project
development coordinator can actually go
in and ask the questions that he has.
>> Right. was present at the time.
>> What the hell?
>> Yeah, cuz I may not have documents per
se as one of them is asking for um
>> look at number one,
the annual service charges that paid to
the
>> Yeah, is it 10% or 2%. Easy question.
>> Mr. documents that actually gives you
the percent,
just hold tight. We can't give you your
answers right now.
>> No, I'm saying no. But what I'm saying
is that I'm just saying to you.
>> So we can't give you your answers right
here tonight. We can't if it's 2% 10%
100%. We can't give you your answers.
>> So just allow
>> us together to answer answer your
question and then we'll get back to you
that I had submitted in
>> that's fine. We understand that. Where
was that at?
>> May I May I go ahead?
>> I'm sorry, sir. And I'm not and I think
that it's I think it's admirable that
you want to have information pertaining
to the finances of the city. That's what
government is supposed to be transparent
for the citizens, right? That's why
there is the open public records act and
the right to know. But there is no one
person who can answer all of your
questions that is required to speak to
you because the open public records act
as the clerk has indicated, right? It's
records. So they can't produce anything.
And the problem with you having someone
give you the answers is that if it's not
in the document already written and
adopted, they could be in the same.
>> So So let me just say this. It would be
a courtesy and I think that's fine if it
be the CFO, if it's one of the
consultants if they if they want to take
the time out. But let's just keep it
real that if you had 25, 30, 50
residents of the city who wanted to
consistently meet with the
professionals.
>> I don't want to meet with nobody,
>> but you want to send it to me.
>> Okay. So, let's give it an let's give an
example. Whatever the percentage is in
here, and this is some work, right? It's
work for you too. Let's work for you too
because whatever the percentage rate is,
it is already in the document. So if you
receive the agreement, it will be there.
>> This question started before I ever put
it in inviting as far as holding writing
to the fire. It went before this
December date. Only reason I went to the
December date is because that's what I
do I the document.
>> Okay.
>> So it's not just one thing. It's not
just one department. That's why I said
whatever department it goes to, give it
to that individual.
>> Right. And then and I've been I've been
patient and waiting.
>> So I'm not saying now you put all of us
on notice.
>> Well, I did that before, man. President.
>> No, you I mean I don't recall you
coming. I did. No, no, no, no. What I'm
saying is I don't recall you coming
here, you know, on this magnitude to say
>> I did. I did. I I gave the copies to
everybody else on dasis and and and
councilwoman I think remembers this. I
gave it to Councilwoman Swanson. I gave
everybody the copy that you just looked
at tonight. I gave y'all that copy then.
>> Um, Councilman Bettis says, "Mr. Ar,
thank you because you bringing me to I'm
not making me knowledgeable as far as so
I did do that."
>> It's not like this the first time and
I'm not like saying kill nobody. I'm
just saying, "Hey, give me the So, so
now what I'm saying is that we're going
to work together and see who we can get
that information from
>> cuz we can't give it to you tonight."
Oh, we know that. Oh, we [laughter] know
that. You know, I'm going to bring it to
your attention so you guys can help me
to push the appropriate departments to
get the documents. Like I said, I knew
Janetti couldn't do it. I knew that.
>> That's why when I was reading this
stuff, it says the tax assessor was one
of the main persons in this thing.
>> Okay,
>> ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your
time.
>> I'm hold my breath again.
>> I'm sure you're going to send him.
>> Thank you.
>> And one more thing. I didn't want to go
find no issues with um Oprah as far as
open act say, "Hey, my rights been
violated." I didn't want to do that
because we said this, but you don't
believe me.
>> I'm here to help President Bill, not
tear down. Remember that Mr. Archie's
here to help President Bill, not to tear
down.
>> You understand me? I'm not trying to
tear down. Help grow.
>> Okay. Thank you.
>> You're welcome, man.
>> Go ahead, C. I'm listening.
>> Good evening everyone.
>> Um I wanted to thank everyone who was
involved in the events at the community
park. the jazz um gospel festival and
the trouble rock event were excellent
events. I enjoyed myself and um I
[clears throat] also wanted to touch on
I don't know everyone remembers a few
years ago there was an article saying
that Pleasantville was one of the
boringest towns in the state was number
three. So, they can't they can't say
that anymore.
>> And I just wanted to let everyone know
that. What I would like to see is you
guys build on this and have more events
at that um lovely park because it was a
lot of people at both events who have
you ever seen that park
>> and when they came they couldn't believe
what we had over there. So, you know,
word is getting out that Pleasantville
is going to move right now with having
special events and things like that.
That's keep it going.
>> I appreciate everyone who was involved
in it. Um, [clears throat] I have one
other thing I wanted to touch on.
Since we, you know, going to the human
park, I've seen it brought to my
attention about the uh old high school
site, the SC site. What in the world is
going on? Why isn't any a show on the
ground? Something being done over there.
And does he still own this property?
When is he going to build? What can we
do to make him build or take our land
back? Something needs to be done. Thank
you.
>> But we don't own the land.
>> No, sure. I said, what can you do to
force him?
>> There is a provision there. there are
breach provisions in within the
agreement but you know I don't know
whether we've reached it or not that
would be a question for redevelopment
>> right so at present just to bring up to
speed as to where we are um we do have
um some preliminary stuff worked out
they were there was going to be a
takeover of the project by the project
called Dela um that negotiation is
happening as we speak and it looks like
they finally turned in all the documents
ments. They then did have to go back
before CAFRA to extend the approval
because they had before that timeline
run out. So, they had to go back for um
original application to CAPA which has
just been completed last week. So, you
know, things are looking up on that
project. They should be doing something
there. I can't give you a date,
unfortunately, but they're a lot closer
now than they were before.
>> We've heard that several times. Yeah.
No.
And that's where we are.
>> Thank you.
May I have a motion to close public?
>> Motion.
>> I have a second.
>> Second.
>> All in favor?
>> Okay. First is ordinance number six,
second reading, public hearing required.
Amending authorizing amendment to the
city coal adding part-time assessment.
I
>> have a motion.
>> Motion. May
>> I have a second? Second
>> roll call. Public hearing is required.
Oh, I'm sorry. Anyone from the public
would like to speak on ordinance number
six?
Anyone from the public?
Seeing no one, may I have a motion to
close
the um public hearing?

writing but should we have
>> 080 yes
>> yeah it's 080%
29
>> no I know it says
>> yeah yeah I'm just saying yes and in
writing it says 080 I saw in writing I
know it
All right. Any comments, mayor?
>> No. I just wanted to say uh yes, thank
you all for coming out and uh thanks to
public works, the police department, the
council, and all the those from the city
that came out to support our efforts
with the events that we have been doing.
And yes, uh Unity Park, that's our best
kept secret. And you know we used to
like I was saying the other night you
had used to have to go everywhere else
for our entertainment. Now people are
coming here.
>> So thank you and as much as we can do
much as fun we allow. We will be doing
different things in our city.
>> Have a good evening.
>> Thank you.
>> Oh I want to say congratulations also to
the new firefighters.
>> Welcome council.
Yes, good job.
I would like to thank the residents of
the city of Pleasantville to have the
the do event and also to have this uh
talk about concert and all that and one
of the things everybody was saying like
we can't do nothing without having
problems or violence and all that and
it's good to show that the city of Pleas
we can have those type of events and we
had no incidents [applause] no incidents
and and I like to thank the residents
for that because that's the only way we
can continue to have these events if we
don't have problems.
public works had that part cleaned
during the event. The police was there
and everything was well at at both
events. It was very very No, I'm sorry.
At three events we had so far the bigger
event. I don't know what that was.
>> The unity events that was we have had no
problems and that's to the residents and
the city of Pleas.
to show that we can have events without
acting up or people getting injured and
and feel uncomfortable. Uh, another
thing I like to say, public works did a
wonderful job with the parking lot. They
they made that into a handicap bowling
parking lot and we was transporting
everybody. That was beautiful. I didn't
think of that, but that was a great idea
that uh public work came up with and the
seniors loved it cuz they they parked up
front, shuttle on the on the golf cart
and everything was nice. So teamwork
makes the dream work and it's very nice
from the police, fire, public works, you
know, everybody did a wonderful job
including congratulations.
>> Thank you.
>> Anyone else?
>> And congratulations to the new newly
pinned uh uh fire recruits and also
congratulations to the fire department
on uh on their youth program also.
And do do everybody get all of these
accolades? So it's not always negative.
>> Yes.
>> Not always negative. Uh the efforts of
of everyone in this city are starting
just [music]
